Lexues Inc. was founded in 1998, during the booming dot-com bubble days, when we developed and began offering free of charge Japan’s first full-fledged Web-based groupware, Team Gear. Even today, this service continues to be frequently covered by the mass media. Immediately after Team Gear came out, OEM arrangements were set up to provide the service for numerous portal sites and universities, and in subsequent years the groupware market has thrived. As is evident from all this, this service has become a symbol of our foresight and efficiency in creating communication services.
Later, when NTT DoCoMo, Inc. introduced its i-mode mobile Internet service, we responded by developing an i-mode-compatible version of Team Gear. We did the same thing following the introduction of the EZweb and J-Sky services. As a result of this evolution, Team Gear has become one of the first Internet services to embody the universal theme of “sharing information anytime and anywhere among the members of a group.”
Then, when the market for mobile Internet sites burgeoned, with Internet-enabled mobile phones rapidly becoming popular, a complex situation surfaced. Creating a mobile site viewable on all mobile phone platforms (i-mode, EZweb and J-Sky), involved producing separate sub-sites configured to suit the specifications of each of the terminal platforms. Lexues solved this situation by releasing Pure AXIS, a revolutionary website conversion application whereby, once an i-mode-compatible site is created, it can be converted to be accessible to all Internet-enabled mobile phones available in the marketplace.
This application was adopted first by a major TV station, followed by many other operators of large-scale sites. Furthermore, transforming this application into an ASP service has enabled us to provide a high-quality service offered a wider range of clients at reasonable prices. Pure Picture is another ASP service that we have launched that can deliver optimized images for viewing on each of the Internet-enabled mobile phone platforms.
Concurrently with the transformation of Pure AXIS into an ASP service, Lexues entered the data center business. In addition to the operation of servers assigned to run our proprietary products, including Team Gear, Pure AXIS and Pure Picture, we are responsible under a turnkey contract for operating and maintaining servers dedicated for CYBIRD Co., Ltd.
Furthermore, in addition to these established service offerings to business clients, since 2009 Lexues has introduced consumer-orientated services and products. These include the development and operation of carrier-authorized mobile sites that distribute downloadable ring tones (known as Chaku-Uta in Japan), and the development of BeatMaster Professional Edition, a unique music application for iPhone. While always keeping in tune with the latest trends in the marketplace, Lexues emphasizes the development of products and services of which we are proud, due to their originality and uniqueness.
Team Gear enables teams to freely group together according to their operational purpose and allows them to select the functions they require. The service embodies true collaboration, free from existing organizations and surpassing any currently available groupware. Team Gear currently offers the following eleven functions:
Team Gear WORKS provides the same services as Team Gear, but with added support and improved functions enabling full web-based communications for businesses and organizations at low cost.
